DaoAI Robotics Inc. ("DaoAI", "we", "us") makes AI-powered automated optical inspection (AOI) machines. This policy explains what personal information we collect through daoai.com, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to our website and to the enquiries you send us through it. It does not cover our inspection machines, which run on-premise in your plant and do not send board images or production data to us.
If you applied to become a distributor through a LinkedIn form, our Distributor Inquiry Privacy Notice also applies.

Information we collect
Information you give us. When you contact us, ask for a demo or a board test, apply to become a distributor or request a download, we collect:
- your first and last name, business email address, company and company type (required);
- your country, job title, the topic of your enquiry and your message (optional).
If you subscribe to our blog newsletter, we collect your email address only.
Information collected with your form. To understand where enquiries come from, we record with each submission the page you sent it from, the referring website, your language setting, campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source), the page you first landed on, and your IP address.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider logs technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to operate and secure the site. We also use analytics and advertising cookies as described in "Cookies and similar technologies" below.
Please do not send us sensitive personal information (such as health or financial information) through our forms.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry, arrange demos and board tests, and discuss quotes, orders, service and partnerships;
- send you the blog newsletter if you subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time);
- understand which pages, campaigns and ads bring relevant enquiries, and improve our website;
- keep our website and systems secure and prevent spam and abuse;
- meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give your details to resellers or other third parties for their own marketing. Submitting a form does not sign you up to marketing emails.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland). We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries, running our business and securing our website; on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies and for the newsletter; and on legal obligations where the law requires us to keep records.
Who we share it with
Your information is available only to authorized DaoAI staff in our North American team who handle enquiries, sales and support. Access to our enquiry records requires an individual account with an assigned role.
We use service providers who process information on our behalf and under our instructions:
- website hosting and database providers (Lovable and its cloud infrastructure);
- cloud servers that host our internal customer-relationship system, located in the United States;
- Google (Google Analytics) for website analytics;
- LinkedIn (LinkedIn Insight Tag) to measure the results of our LinkedIn advertising;
- Meta (Meta Pixel and Conversions API) to measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram advertising.
When you submit a form and advertising measurement is allowed, we send Meta a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of your email address, name and country, together with your IP address and browser details, so Meta can match the enquiry to an ad you saw. We do not send your message or company details to Meta.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case the information would remain subject to this policy.
Where your information is processed
We are based in Canada. Our service providers store and process information in Canada, the United States and other countries where they operate. When your information is transferred outside your country, including from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Information stored in another country may be accessible to that country's authorities under its laws.

Analytics and advertising cookies. Google Analytics loads only after you interact with the page, and never on our staff sign-in pages. If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and the Meta Pixel load only after you accept them in our cookie banner. Everywhere else they load by default, and you can turn them off at any time through Cookie settings in the footer of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load the LinkedIn Insight Tag or the Meta Pixel. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for two years after our last contact with you, then delete it, unless we need to keep it longer to complete an order, provide service, or meet legal, tax or accounting requirements. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), role-based access for staff, and access limited to people who need it for their work. No system is completely secure, so please contact us if you believe your information has been put at risk.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or restrict our use of it, including for direct marketing;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
To make a request, email business@daoai.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact your local data protection authority. In Canada, this is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Children
Our website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, such as LinkedIn. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will highlight it on our website.
